Bio:
Erwalt

Walt, a passion driven rock singer/songwriter from Johannesburg, South Africa received his 1st radio airplay in 2003. His sound is defined by a melancholic warm-distinctive lead voice, the songs are strong with melodies diving deep once hearing them.

In 2007 the artist started studio production on the much anticipated debut album “Until the end”. Recorded with 2 legendary producers, Mark Beling, who is famous for his radio charting success with: Mean Mr Mustard, Lindsay Mcguire, Jacques (Idols), Changing Face. Jon Buckley the man behind the big rock sounds of: Jo Day, Toxic Shame, New Academics

The 11 track record brings flavors of pop, modern rock, grunge, alternative, adult contemporary and heartfelt ballads.

With the experience of doing live shows across SA since 2003, a constant growing fan base and joining an international A&R company in USA, the artist formed a clear direction of where he wanted to go when writing the album.

"Somewhere", the 1st single reached #1 status on Top 10 Charts on Highveld and campus radio. With the track's controversial music video creating a public awareness, becoming the official theme song for the Missing Children SA Organization, the artist made headlines on news bulletins across Highveld, 702, K-FM and “Weekend Live” on SABC 2.

Currently playlisted: 5-fm, Highveld, Radio 2000, Radio Today, Tuks FM, UJFM, Kovsie FM, MFM, PukFm. The single also released on " 94.7 Homebrew hits vol.1" as well as "MK Hoordosis 3" compilation albums.

In August’08 the artist signed an International Song Licensing Deal with a USA label for Film & TV placement.

The debut album, “Until the End” was Launched on 5 March 09 at Tanz Cafe in JHB, currently available in all good music stores nationwide through Sheer Sound. (SEED 118)

“…one of this artist’s strengths is that the uniqueness of the singer’s voice is difficult to pin a comparison to…part corrupt choirboy, part angelic rocker, it’s just one of those voices that you would instantly recognize, which is a rare gift in these days of manufactured Idols….”
